Clinical Governance
Overview
Clinical governance is defined as a systematic approach to maintaining and improving the quality of patient care within a health system. For divisions of general practice this relates most strongly to general practices themselves, but it is also relevant to the range of nursing and allied health services that they are increasingly involved in providing. It addresses those structures, systems and processes that assure the quality, accountability and proper management of an organisation's operation and delivery of service that relate to the delivery of care to patients and their carers.
